I'm a girl who loves beauty products, even though I haven't always been very keen on them, so I decided to start a beauty blog, where I share beauty product reviews with others and tell you about both the worst and best beauty products out there, according to me.

I'm also hoping it will make beauty and makeup more fun, even for those who are not beauty addicts already.

Review: CK One Shock for Her Shower Gel

It's time to review a shower gel again!

This time, I'll tackle CK One's Shock for Her shower gel, and let me start this review by saying that I generally tend to love Calvin Klein scents (I am a huge fan of the regular CK One, for instance). And this scent is nice, too. However, I don't think it is as memorable as some other Calvin Klein scents I have had the pleasure of trying before.

This shower gel is really nice to use after you do sports, let's say and want to smell really fresh and clean. I can somehow imagine this in gym locker rooms quite easily.

For me, however, the CK One Shock for Her is just too boring of a scent, so I don't think I will be getting the actual scent, but I am still happy I gave it a try and I will definitely be using the rest of this after workouts!

Review: Roses de Chloe shower gel

Another shower gel review, that is actually really a scent review (like the previous 2 as well), since I got these shower gels mostly to get acquainted with the scents, in order to figure out if I should buy the perfumes or not.
This time, I will tell you what I thought of Chloe's Roses de Chloe.

And to sum it up (because why beat around the bush too much, am I right?): I pretty much loved it! I do love rose scents, after all, and I knew from previous experiences that I would probably like Chloe scents, too. (My sister has been wearing one of their scents for years, I believe, and it smells divine!)

But I was surprised how gentle and pretty this scent seemed. This makes it perfect for every day use, and for dates, if you ask me, and that's a pretty versatile scent, isn't it?

The bottle is just as pretty too, and I assume the actual perfume bottle would be even prettier, so I love the packaging too. The only complaint I have is that the scent doesn't stay for very long, but this is a common issue with shower gels, and does not necessarily reflect on the perfume, I think, so I think I will still be getting the perfume too.

Review: Gucci Premiere Shower Gel

Another shower gel I had the pleasure of trying recently was the Gucci Premiere one. I actually had had no previous experiences with Gucci perfumes or scents, until I gave this shower gel a try, so I didn't really know what to expect, but I can say that this rather heavy and luxurious scent definitely embodies the brand Gucci for me. It smells Italian, sexy and expensive, somehow.

The packaging is also very Gucci-esque, due to the pattern on the box, but even though the bottle is gold colored, I do think it looks a bit cheap due to the plastic it is made of. I would assume, however, that this is not the case if you get the actual perfume, but the shower gel packaging could definitely be reworked a bit, in order to feel more luxurious.

Some of the notes in the scent are said to be vintage champagne, orange blossom, musk, white flowers and leather (how fitting for a company that is so known for their leather products as Gucci is, right?), making this what I would definitely call an evening scent, for people who go to all kinds of fancy events in my mind.

I must admit, however, that this is not really my type of scent, as I am more of a light and fresh scent kind of a girl. So this scent did turn out a bit too heavy for my taste. It just doesn't fit me, I guess. I would probably like this scent on others, though, so its definitely not a matter of the Gucci Premiere not being a nice scent, because it totally is, just not a scent that fits me so well.

Due to this, I would probably not buy the Gucci Premiere shower gel again, nor will I be getting the perfume, but I am still glad I gave this a try. I did learn, after all, that as luxurious as Gucci scents are, they are not really what I look for in a scent. Good to know!

Review: Dolce & Gabbana Rose The One Shower Gel

A while ago, my to go to online store for all things beauty related - Strawberrynet - had a sale on a lot of stuff, including shower gels, so I decided to stock up on some, both because I actually needed new shower gels, but also because I think shower gels is an inexpensive way to get to know new scents, that you are not so familiar with, for a fraction of the cost it would cost to get the perfume itself. One of the shower gels I got during this promotion was Dolce & Gabbana's Rose The One shower gel. And I must say this was a very nice shower gel to try!

Now the gel itself is not anything spectacular. It's a normal shower gel, with a normal, yet working, texture and form. The bottle looks okay, but not like anything too fancy (which is actually something I would expect from a Dolce & Gabbana shower gel, so that is a bit of a downside, I guess), but the thing that sets this showergel apart from others is definitely the scent! It is just lovely in every possible way.

Of course the scent is rose based, as you might have guessed by the name already, but this is not your run of the mill rose scent. There is something very unique and beautiful about this scent, that is actually a bit hard to put into words.

But if I were to try, I would say this scent is both elegant and classy, yet a timeless scent at the same time. Definitely a winner in my book, and I do believe I shall be purchasing the actual perfume as well. So my shower gel experiment was off to a very good start!

Review: Kellogg's Frosted Flakes Lip Balm

When I saw that ASOS was selling Mad Beauty's Kellogg's Frosted Flakes Lip Balm, I knew I had to get one, in order to give it a try. I used to really like Frosties as a kid, and I loved the cute packaging too.

And I do think that the Kellogg's Frosted Flakes Lip Balm pleasantly surprised me. The texture is nice and creamy, the scent not too strong, yet nice, and the packaging is really cute in real life too. I wouldn't say this lip balm is the most moisturizing one I've ever tried, but it is definitely okay.

As a matter of fact, I liked this lip balm so much that I would definitely like to try other lip balms from the same range as well, such as the Cocoa Pops one, as well. So if you are a sucker for cute packaging and don't really need a heavy duty lip balm, I would definitely recommend that you give this one a try! I will definitely finish up mine, and might even get this again.

Review: Aussie Long Luscious conditioner

I reviewed Aussie's Frizz Miracle Conditioner a while ago, but at the same time as I bought the Frizz Miracle Conditioner I also bought a conditioner from Aussie called Long Luscious, since I have both kind of frizzy hair, and really long hair. And now that I have tried both, I have to say these conditioners are pretty similar. They look exactly the same, smell exactly the same, and I cannot say that I noticed a big difference in my hair depending on which one I used.
So while I thought both conditioners were actually nice, I wouldn't say it matters a whole lot which one of them you use. But both conditioners are nice and well worth trying, I would say!

Review: Aussie Frizz Miracle Conditioner

As you may remember, I reviewed the Aussie Frizz Miracle Shampoo a while ago, but I also got the conditioner from the same range, and I wanted to share some thoughts on that as well.

My main impression of the conditioner is that it is actually pretty similar to the shampoo. The texture, color and even the scent is similar, and since I liked all those things about the shampoo, I like them in the conditioner as well, of course.
There is one major difference between the shampoo and the conditioner, however, and that is that the conditioner is not a product where a little goes a long way, so to speak. The shampoo is, I didn't have to use a lot of it to get good results, but I definitely need to do that with the conditioner. So that annoys me, and makes me like the conditioner less.

So while I would get the shampoo again, without a doubt, I am not so sure about this conditioner. Maybe just if I got a really good deal on it...

Review: Darphin Anti-fatigue Smoothing Eye Gel

Darphin is a French brand I had been hearing about for a while, but for some reason I never got around to trying any Darphin products. That is, until very recently, because now I have actually been using their Anti-fatigue Smoothing Eye Gel for a while, and I have to say I love it!
First of all, the scent of this eye gel is lovely, the texture just great as well, and the gel absorbs really fast, which I appreciate, because so many other eye products that I have tried don't. It also does reduce any signs of fatigue (as a new Mom, with a 5 week old, I do need that!) really well, so I will say this eye gel definitely lives up to its name!

I will definitely buy this eye gel again and it made me really eager to try more Darphin products as well. How come the French are so good at this stuff?

Review: Aussie Frizz Miracle Shampoo

The first time I tried Aussie hair products was more than a year and a half ago (read all about what my first experience with the brand was like here), and while I did like the product (not to mention my sister loves this brand and always raves about it), I didn't really buy it again since, for the simple reason that it is not sold where I live. But this week I noticed that my local pharmacy had actually started stocking this brand, so I decided to buy some more Aussie products. The first of those products, that I will be reviewing is their Aussie Frizz Miracle Shampoo, which is supposed to help anyone with frizzy hair get more manageable hair.
First of all, I have to say I love how this shampoo looks. And no, I don't mean the packaging, I mean the actual product that comes out of it. Because you see, it is really, really blue, which of course is very unusual, and I like unusual things, so I loved that. The texture and the scent is also nice, although not anything to get super excited about (but then again, this is the case with most shampoos), and I also really liked that you do not need to use a lot of this shampoo to get your hair clean. A little really goes a long way here, which might explain why the bottle is so small compared to most other shampoo bottles I buy.
I also do think that my hair has gotten smoother and more manageable since I started using this shampoo. So I actually do think that the Aussie Frizz Miracle Shampoo lives up to its claims!

The beauty product I am most looking forward to trying right now

Is actually Christian Louboutin's first beauty item, set to be launched really soon: Louboutin nail polish!
I actually highly doubt that this nail polish will be very different from most nail polishes (despite the rumored $50 price tag!) but I think the bottles will be a great addition to any collection, so if these polishes will be sold where I live (or in an online store that ships here), I will definitely get at least one bottle, just to try it.

Review: Patisserie de Bain Coconut Ice Bath & Shower Creme

I reviewed a bath & shower creme from Patisserie de Bain recently, but as I mentioned in the post about it, I actually got several shower cremes at the same time as that one. So its time to review another one of them! This time, I will tell you about another scent I really liked: the Coconut Ice one. You see, I do like coconut scents, but only in the summer. Somehow coconut is a really summery scent for me, so I cannot even imagine using coconut scented products in the winter.
Patisserie de Bain's Coconut Ice Shower Creme has a really nice coconut scent, not too strong or overpowering, just perfect. So I really liked the scent!
However, the bottle the bath & shower creme comes in is really not nice or convenient to use. So while the scent is definitely nice, I think there must be coconut scented shower gels and creams out there that come in better bottles, and I would definitely prefer those over this one!

Review: Beauticology Strawberry and Vanilla Truffle Body Wash

My first experience with Beauticology's body washes was a very positive one indeed (read all about that here), but sadly, the second scent I tried from Beauticology did not make me swoon as much.

The scent was called Strawberry and Vanilla Truffle, which sounds kind of yummy, and don't get me wrong or anything, it's not that this smells bad, it definitely doesn't. It's just a bit bland in comparison to the Decadent Milk Chocolate one, which is really something truly special and unique.
I definitely will use up the Strawberry and Vanilla Truffle Body Wash, but will probably not be sniffing myself obsessively afterwards, like I did with the Decadent Milk Chocolate one (if this is a good thing or a bad is up to you to decide!), and I am not in a rush to buy this again.
That said, the texture is just as lovely as it was in the first shower creme I tried, the bottle is user friendly and I do think this body wash is pretty good value for money. So should you happen to like the scent, I would definitely recommend you to buy this. I just happen to have another Beauticology favorite scent myself...

Review: Beauticology Decadent Milk Chocolate Shower Creme

When I got the Rose & Co Patisserie de Bain set mentioned in the previous post at an ASOS sale, I also ordered a set by Beauticology, a to me previously unknown brand, since their scents really sounded yummy. None of them more so than the Decadent Milk Chocolate Shower Creme, that actually smells just like amazing milk chocolate, making this shower creme an absolute pleasure to use in every way. I just kept smelling my arm after having washed it with this shower creme to be honest!
The bottle this shower creme comes in is not super exciting in anyway, but not too bad either, as it is totally functional and easy to use, which is really one of the more important things if you ask me.
So if I run into this shower creme again, I will definitely buy it again (luckily I got 2 whole bottles in my set, so while I already finished the first, I still have another one left), and my first experience with Beauticology's products in general and their shower cremes in particular was definitely a good one!

Review: Rose & Co Patisserie de Bain Lemon Bon Bon Bath & Shower Cream

A while ago, ASOS, one of my favorite online stores for all kinds of stuff, really, had a sale on several beauty items, and I took the chance to pick up some stuff that looked interesting, but that I hadn't tried before then. One of the things I decided to order was a set of Patisserie de Bain Bath & Shower Cream minis, which intrigued me since:
1. I love everything French, and the name made it sound kind of French
2. I needed shower cream anyway. I use a lot of it whenever I shower, so getting several small bottles seemed like a really good idea.
3. The scents sounded divine.
I will be reviewing a few of these scents separately, but let's start with the scent that appealed the most to me when I got the set, and therefore was the one I tried first: the one called Lemon Bon Bon. I am a huge fan of anything "lemony" as some of you may know, so it really sounded like I would love this. And I actually did! The scent is really nice and does smell like lemon indeed. So I really liked the scent, and the packaging is cute as well, it has a retro feel which I personally love.
But! and this is actually a big but! the bottle is quite useless, it turned out to be really hard to get anything out of this bottle, which was a disappointment. In fact it was so bad that I could only get like a quarter of the stuff inside out, which makes me think that I probably do not want to get any Patisserie de Bain products again, since the bottle made me really annoyed. So if I had any advice to give Rose & Co about this product, it would definitely be to keep working on the bottles!

Review: Hermes Voyage d'Hermes

I got quite a few scents at Strawberrynet a while ago, when they had special offers on all their scents. One scent that I picked up then, that was brand new to me, was Hermes' Voyage d'Hermes, a scent I had been sniffing whenever I travelled, at airport duty free shops, for quite some time before that. The thing about this scent is, though, that it is rather unique. So either you love it or hate it, I think, so this is definitely not a scent people will not notice. In my opinion, that can be both a good thing and a bad thing, so I wasn't sure if I wanted such a distinctive scent or not.

Now that I have this perfume, though, I am glad I do, because the scent is rather nice, even though not suitable for all occasions, if you ask me. It has a rather woody, yet musky and fresh feel at the same time, which is rather interesting, but not for everyone, I think. If you do not like woody scents, for instance, this will definitely not be for you, since you can't get around the woody notes, no matter what you do.
From what I understand, all Hermes scents are rather unique and unusual, though, so they can't really be confused with other scents, and I would definitely say that is the case with Voyage d'Hermes as well!

I don't think it is very overpowering, though, so it's okay that the scent is distinctive due to that. The longevity of the scent is also really good as well, it lasts for much longer than most other perfumes I have (and none of them are what you would call low end, we are talking big brands here!). That is a rather tricky and unusual combination
The bottle I got was a refillable one, and I definitely think I will get a refill for this bottle when I run out of this scent!

I should also mention that the scent is a unisex one, so I think it will appeal mostly to those who like unisex scents to begin with (personally I love them!).

The only complaint I might possibly have about this buy is that the bottle somehow does not feel very upscale, which is something I would expect from a Hermes bottle, to be honest. So the bottle is a bit of a disappointment, but try as I may, I cannot really complain about anything else at all. I simply love this, and am so happy I got it!

Review: DKNY Be Delicious

Now, to be completely honest, I have only tried a sample size of this perfume, but I liked it so much that I decided to buy a bottle of this, so I think I still have a decent enough opinion on this scent in order to be able to share it.
I should start off by saying that I do not necessarily think of apples when I smell this scent, but there is definitely something "apple-y" about it if you make an effort to smell it. What it effortlessly is, however, is a fresh, light scent, that works really well during the day.
I would also describe the scent as pretty unique, I definitely have not ran into any similar scent anywhere so far!

I was also pretty impressed by the longevity. I stopped smelling this scent myself when I was wearing it, but others were complimenting me on it all through the day. So even if I could not feel the scent lingering, others clearly could, which was nice!
So as I mentioned in the beginning of the post already, I will definitely be getting a full bottle of DKNY Be Delicious very, very soon!

Review: Sephora Strawberry Creamy Body Wash

I've reviewed 2 of these body washes before, the toffee one (see the review here) and the vanilla one (see that review here), and I bought full size tubes of those, but I wasn't sure I was going to like the strawberry scented body wash as much, so I only bought 2 travel size capsules of those. Which actually turned out to be lucky, because I in fact did not like this scent as much.
The texture is nice though, just like it was when I tried the other scents, and while I have read some criticism regarding the capsules, such as that they would be hard to open, I can't really say I agree with that, because I opened the ones I used with wet, slippery hand, and had no issues what so ever. The only complaint I might have is that there wasn't really enough of the stuff in the capsule for a full, thorough body wash (I use a lot of soap when I shower, though), so I guess I would have wanted the capsule to be bigger.
I would definitely buy Sephora's body washes, as well as these capsules again, but since this particular scent wasn't so nice (my personal opinion), I would probably go for another scent next time.

Review: Marine Fine Touch Hair Mask

I wrote about an absolutely awful shampoo from the brand Marine a couple of days ago, but I should in all fairness also mention that I actually did buy the hair mask from the same line as well, when I got the shampoo.
Now, since the shampoo was so bad, you'd expect for the hair mask to be that as well, I suppose, but the hair mask is actually pretty harmless. It does not have a horrible scent, it has a really nice, normal texture, and it actually makes my hair pretty nice after I've used it.
I'm not sure it is one of the best hair masks I've ever tried or anything like that, but it certainly is pretty nice, and I might get it again in the future (without the shampoo, of course). I do think this shampoo wasn't very cheap though, so I am sure you can get a similar hair mask for a better price, if you look around a bit.

Something I just love right now

Is the fact that Nivea has started selling miniatures of their most popular products, such as their deodorants, shaving creams etc. where I live. These are just so convenient to take on a trip, or even to carry to work (well, the deodorants, anyway) if needed. I've gotten a whole bunch of these, for both me and my husband, I must admit!

Review: Marine Rich and Smooth Shampoo

I've been trying out quite a lot of different shampoos, conditioners and other hair products for quite some time now, because I really want to find a shampoo that I love everything about. One thing is for sure though: the Marine Rich and Smooth Shampoo I tried a while ago is definitely not my ultimate shampoo!
The shampoo itself is actually rather harmless. The texture is not perfect, but not really, really bad either, it's just a bit slimey and gross, if you ask me. The shampoo does clean my hair nicely, too, and the packaging is fine. But the scent of this shampoo is just horrible!

I've actually never tried any shampoo, nor any other beauty product with such a strong and unpleasant scent. The scent is really, really strong, and lingers for a really long time, and reminds me of melted plastic. There is nothing nice, natural or neutral about it, it just gives you the feeling if having washed your hair at the nearest plastic factory or something.
Needless to say, I will definitely not be getting this shampoo again. There is no need to, and I didn't even finish the bottle I had, so why on earth would I want another one?

The shampoo isn't tested on animals though, and it is salt free. So while I do find it quite bad, I do this some other shampoo manufacturers still have a thing or two to learn from Marine, that makes the shampoo!

Review: Calvin Klein CKOne

I recently ordered quite a few scents from Strawberrynet, one of which was Calvin Klein's CKOne, a classic scent, that I actually used to use when I was a lot younger as well, so I was actually already familiar with this scent, but I was still curious to see if I would still like this light, fresh and citrus-y scent. And as luck would have it (since I ordered the largest bottle on offer) I did!
This is a very simple, yet unique scent, which was the first unisex scent ever released, I believe, and it is still definitely one of the best unisex scents out there, if you ask me. It gives you that "just out of the shower" smell a lot of people (including me!) really like, just like perfumes like Clean.
I think it's a minimal scent that goes best with a casual look, like jeans, not so much with a very formal look, for evenings, but I actually like fresh, simple scents better anyway, so this is really a perfect scent for me.
I will definitely get this scent again, after I run out. But I suppose it will take a while, since the bottle I have is rather big.

Review: Apivita Green Tea & Bergamot Shower Gel

This is another product I was fortunate enough to try while I was in Greece recently. And actually, even if I wouldn't have wanted to try it, I would still have become familiar with it, I think, since the scent of this shower gel, used in all the rooms of the hotel I stayed at, of course, is so strong that it actually lingers all over the hotel, I think. Now, I am not necessarily saying this is a bad thing, because I actually really like the scent of this shower gel (it has a very strong green tea scent, I would say), but it does mean that the scent is incredibly strong, so I can't really recommend this shower gel to anyone who is sensitive to strong scents and/or who doesn't like green tea and how that smells.
Other than that, this shower gel is actually very nice. It has a really nice texture, it lathers nicely and of course, it cleans you off well.

So I think I would buy this shower gel if it was for sale where I live (it isn't, as far as I know, anyway), because I did really like it.
