I'm a girl who loves beauty products, even though I haven't always been very keen on them, so I decided to start a beauty blog, where I share beauty product reviews with others and tell you about both the worst and best beauty products out there, according to me.

I'm also hoping it will make beauty and makeup more fun, even for those who are not beauty addicts already.

Review: Little Book of Skin Care by Charlotte Cho

Normally I do not review books here on the blog, even if they are about beauty, but I found The Little Book of Skin Care by Charlotte Cho so unique that I decided to mention it here.
First, I need to say that I am not all that familiar with Korean skin care, but this book really lays it all out there really well, so it was a great introduction to it for me.
While I am not sure I will follow all the advice in the book I do think I got enough ideas for the money I paid for the book to have been worth it. So I would recommend it to others as well, especially those who are not so well versed in all things related to Korean skin care already.
The book is written in an interesting way as well, with a lot of interesting stories from Cho's own life, and I like that, as it keeps the book from becoming too boring.

Review: La Mer The Moisturizing Gel Cream

I have been interested in trying out La Mer products for quite some time, but as their products are generally intended for those with very dry skin, which I do not have, I never got around to trying any of their products until pretty recently, when a La Mer sales lady in Hong Kong, where I visited recently, explained to me that there are some La Mer products suitable for those with combination skin and even oily skin as well. She recommended the La Mer The Moisturizing Gel Cream and even though it cost way more than what I usually pay for moisturizer, I decided to take her advice and try it out.
And already the first time I tried the cream, I was very happy I did!
The gel cream is very light, which I like, as very thick creams are always less appealing to me, it feels very nice to the touch indeed and it has a lovely scent (I believe that is the classic La Mer scent I have heard others raving about in the past) as well.

The cream also makes my skin silky smooth each time I apply it, which I love! I have been known to just feel my face after applying it, just to enjoy the feel, and this rarely (or actually: never!) happens with other products, let me tell you!
It also did not cause any breakouts, which is always a concern for me, as I do have combination skin like I said, and I am very pleased with the fact that you only have to use a very small amount each time, so while there is no denying that this cream is expensive, I do not believe I will need to restock any time soon.

I have only been using the cream for a bit over a week daily so it is too soon to say if it will actually make me look way younger like many claim, but the experience has certainly been good enough for me to say that I cannot wait to try more La Mer products!

Review: Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm

So, I am not very well acquainted with cleansing oils and cleansing balms, but I had heard so many good things about the brand with the weird Hungarian name - Omorovicza - that I knew I needed to try one of their products at least, and I decided their Thermal Cleansing Balm would be a great introduction to their brand, as it would give me a chance to try not only a new brand, but a completely new type of product too.
Now, in the beginning I did feel weird about not rinsing this product off with water but rather wiping it off, so I am glad I did not review it immediately after I got it, because now I really like it! It does cleanse well, but it does look a bit weird, being completely black and all, so when my husband saw me using it... well, let's just say he didn't think it was a great look!
But afterwards, my skin feels very soft and nice, even right after cleaning it, which does not happen with most other cleansers, so I was very happy about that. My skin has not been breaking out after I used it either, which was a concern for me, as the product was so different in comparison to other cleansers I normally use.

The only downside I can think of mentioning for this product is that the scent is honestly not that pleasing. But that is only because this is a very natural product, without any perfume or scent added, so I can live with that, especially since I am pretty into all kinds of natural stuff lately.

So the Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm is definitely a very interesting product, and I believe it will last for quite some time, since you do not need to use a lot of it each time you cleanse your face. While it is expensive, I think the fact that one jar lasts for so long would make me purchase it again.

So I certainly am glad I decided to give both Omorovicza as a brand and this cleansing balm in particular a try!

Review: L'Occitane One Minute Hand Scrub

Another gem from my recent L'Occitane loot is definitely the One Minute Hand Scrub. I believe I have mentioned my notoriously dry hands in the winter here on the blog before, but this winter (well, it's actually still fall where I am but anyway) I decided to try something new, besides all the hand creams I consume, so I really wanted to try the L'Occitane One Minute Hand Scrub.
Now, while this product does not have one of those amazing scents L'Occitane is famous for (I was a bit disappointed about that as I love their scents), it is a really nice product, as it manages to both exfoliate and soften my hands at the same time.

I am not sure what exactly I was expecting of the One Minute Hand Scrub, as I am pretty used to being disappointed in hand products, but it certainly lived up to all my expectations and more!

So I will definitely keep using this one all through the winter and repurchase when I run out!

Review: L'Occitane Neroli & Orchidee Collection De Grasse Eau de Toilette

I also mentioned before that I bought a lot of L'Occitane products recently, so let's break up the Laline product reviews with a L'Occitane one, shall we?

Among the things I got was a scent, the L'Occitane Neroli & Orchidee Collection De Grasse Eau de Toilette, as I tried it out in the store and thought it smelled amazing.
And after having used this scent a couple of times, I still really like it, as it does not smell too perfumey, but is rather a very faint, yet charming scent, not overpowering or strong, but it does linger for quite long. The longevity is perhaps not the best, but keeping in mind that it is a Eau de Toilette and not a perfume, I think it is okay.
I will also say that it is a very summery scent, though, so I suspect I won't be using it too much during the winter, but I definitely look forward to next summer when I will be able to wear it on a day to day basis, and since the weather where I live is still pretty summery, I do believe I will try to use it a couple of times more before winter is here for real.

I would definitely purchase this scent again!

Review: Laline Cherry Blossom Body Scrub

So I mentioned recently that I had bought quite a lot of Laline products, and now it is time for the first Laline review.

I decided to give the Laline Cherry Blossom Body Scrub a try first, as I honestly needed a really good scrub (sorry if TMI!).

And this body scrub really does the job really well!
It is kind of a rough scrub, not the gentle kind, but I personally like that, but it might make this scrub less suitable for those with sensitive skin.
Everything I wanted off, came off easily, and my skin felt strangely moisturized, yet not sticky and gross afterwards, and that is pretty rare for me. I find it rather easy to find body scrubs that scrub well, but not as easy to find something that does not leave me with some weird residue. But the Laline Cherry Blossom Body Scrub does and doesn't!

So basically I was very pleased with this body scrub, especially since the Cherry Blossom scent was really pleasant too, so I will definitely be considering this scrub again when I need a new one!

Comin up on the blog: Several L'Occitane reviews

The day after I went for a shopping spree at Laline, I went a bit beserk at a L'Occitane store as well, so I am pleased to announce that I will be publishing several reviews of different L'Occitane products here on the blog in the upcoming days as well!
Stay tuned!
