I'm a girl who loves beauty products, even though I haven't always been very keen on them, so I decided to start a beauty blog, where I share beauty product reviews with others and tell you about both the worst and best beauty products out there, according to me.

I'm also hoping it will make beauty and makeup more fun, even for those who are not beauty addicts already.

Review: Dior Purifying Cleansing Milk

The Dior Purifying Cleansing Milk was somewhat of an impulse buy on StrawberryNet (anyone else make those?), and I must say I love Dior products due to how pretty they look in your bathroom, this cleanser being no exception. However, this cleanser definitely has both pros and cons, in my opinion, so let me tell you about both.
Pros
- It did not break out my rather oily skin, which is something I can't take for granted with most cleansing milks, unfortunately, so I was very happy about that!
- The cleansing milk itself has a lovely, clean and basic texture and feel. Not greasy and annoying like some cheaper brands tend to.
Cons
- The bottle is just useless, it is really hard to get anything out and some pieces fell off when I first opened it. The bottle is so poorly made, however, that I am thinking that maybe the one I got was somehow defective, but as I do not know that for a fact, I will just say that the bottle is definitely not one of my favorite ones.
- This product does seem a tad overpriced for me. I know it's Dior and all, and you pay just as much for the name as for the product, but still...

Also worth noting
- This cleanser does not really have a specific scent, which may be a good thing, according to some, and a bad thing, according to some. With cleansers I personally do not have a preference regarding this, so just sayin'...

Would I buy the Dior Purifying Cleansing Milk again?
Hmmm... probably not. It's not a fantastic product, and there are some truly amazing similar products out there, after all, so I would probably stick to those...

Review: Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Awakening Lip Balm

I mentioned in my post about my 2 new Dior lip products that I would be reviewing my new Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Awakening Lip Balm, and well, now it's time for that review.
I was actually not sure about getting this product, since the whole idea behind this product is that it "awakens" and strengthens your own natural lip color, and to be honest, I wasn't really sure what shade that would be in my case, and if I would like it or not. The main reason being that I like nudish lips, very light pink ones, and I suspected that that would actually not be my natural lip color. But after having tried the Lip Glow, I must say I was happy with the results. The color of my lips, after I applied this was very similar to how my lips look without anything on them, just a bit darker, which looks really, really natural and nice. It actually looks like you haven't used any lip product on the lips at all, which is very, very nice, if you ask me!
The packaging of the Lip Glow Color Awakening Lip Balm is not as luxurious as what I am used to with Dior products, though, the case looks kind of plasticky.

But the Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Awakening Lip Balm moisturizes your lips quite well, too, besides changing the color of the lips, which was a nice surprise. And the texture is really nice and buttery too.
So while this is not my favorite lip product of all time or anything, I am still really happy I gave it a try, and would probably buy it again, for days when I want a natural lip look, if you know what I mean.

Besides the packaging, which wasn't a hit for me, at least compared to other Dior products, the only downside of this product is the price. This is pricey for a lip balm, after all, but I think it will last me for quite some time, so maybe it's not as expensive as it seems for that reason?

My Dior lip products have arrived!

I mentioned a while ago that I went a bit crazy at the Strawberrynet make up sale recently. Now the first of the products I ordered have arrived: The Dior lip products I ordered. (I ordered some of the stuff separately, since I would have had to pay a lot of tax for the stuff otherwise)

I've already tried the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer (read my review of it here), but the Dior Addict Lip Glow was a new accquaintance for me, so I will be reviewing it shortly.

Review: Dior Addict Lip Maximizer

Besides the Braun Silk-epil bikini styler, I got the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer from a tax free catalogue on a plane. The reason being mostly that I am not completely happy with my upper lip, I think it could be fuller (my lower lip is fine though), so I have been thinking about getting a lip plumper product for a while now, and since I have been very happy with Dior products in the past, I thought getting the Dior Lip Maximizer would be a good opportunity to try something like that.
And my first impression of the Dior Lip Maximizer was great, it has a great peppermint smell and flavor, which I love. And not only does this product actually plump your lips quite a lot, it also gives them moisture, which is great, since this makes it a multi function product.

The Dior Addict Lip Maximizer is not sticky either, like some lip products can be, which is very important for me, since I have long hair, that will sometimes come close to my lips when it's windy out and so on. And then I really don't want my hair sticking to my lips. The Dior Addict Lip Maximizer is not sticky at all, though, and the color is just like I like it too, very natural and pretty.
So I definitely love this product! The only thing I can say as a bit of a con is that I really do not see that my lips got permanently plumped from using the Dior Lip Maximizer. I do see a difference when I am actually using the product though, which is good enough for me. I will definitely get this one again!

My wishlist right now

Below you'll find a list of the products I want to try most at the moment:
- bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow Quads

I know pretty much everyone is familiar by bareMinerals by now, but I still haven't tried any of their products. So I really should!
Plus, the colors are great for a natural, yet polished look.

- Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Awakening Lip Balm
Because I love Dior products, especially the ones for the lips, and the color looks like something I would like.

- Elemis FreshSkin Skin Clear Purifying Facial Wash
Elemis is another skin care brand I haven't had the chance to try yet, and who would say no to clearer skin?

- Cowshed Spearmint Exfoliating Sea Salt Scrub

Because I am really into scrubs right now (I love how my skin feels after!), and a spearmint one sounds really interesting. Plus, I want to try some Cowshed stuff too!

On my wish list right now

I am constantly saving stuff on my computer, since I need to plan what products I get, so I don't end up with too many duplicates. (Believe me, this has happened quite a few times over the years!)

Some of top items on my wishlist right now are:
Bliss That's Incredi-peel! Spa Strength Re-surfacing Pads, since I am a huge Bliss fan and have had such great results with their products before. So I am always looking for more Bliss products to try!

L'Occitanes Almond Delightful Shape cream. I am not sure it will work wonders on smoothing skin etc., but a friend of mine absolutely swears by this, and I know it smells absolutely amazing!

Dior's Addict Lip Glow Color Awakening Balm, because I love trying new lip balms, and this one seems like the most intriguing one out of the ones I haven't had a chance to try yet.

Dior Garden Clutch

Today I am absolutely swooning over the Dior Garden Clutch from the Spring 2012 Dior collection, so gorgeous!

I seriously think this has to be one of the prettiest forms of packaging that I have seen for make up in a long time. Love it!

Review: Dior Addict lipstick ColorPlay

I was recently given my first Dior lipstick as a present, and I have to say, Dior makes the best lipsticks! The lipstick is really easy to apply and lasts for a very long time, which is great, since I was given a very natural color (377 from the ColorPlay collection), which really looks good and not too made up all day long.
The color is really subtle and slightly pink, so if you have been looking for the perfect every day lipstick that suits everyone, this just might be the lipstick for you!

I've heard that people who want stronger colors for their lips are slightly dissapointed by this lipstick, however, so I would say that this lipstick is better for those of us who prefer natural looking makeup.
I liked this lipstick so much, I am thinking of getting some more Dior products from the same line to try out.

Before we get started

Let me tell you a little bit about me, what kind of beauty products I like generally, and what is important to me.

I am:
Slightly over 30 years old.
Married.
Someone who lives in a warm, humid climate.
Someone who does not have a lot of time, so I like products that do not require a lot of time.
A fanatic when it comes to skin care.

I think:
Natural and organic beauty products are awesome, so I look for them all the time.
Everything looks better when it's applied on great skin, so we should all care for our skin properly before looking at anything else.
Makeup can be fun, but should never be a chore.
Makeup for special occasions is even more fun.
The best products are not always the most expensive ones, but sometimes you do get what you pay for.
The right perfume and scent can make a huge difference.
Sometimes you need to feel girly and glamorous, and beauty products can help us do just that.

Some of my favorite brands are:
L'Occitane
MAC
Clarins
Dior
Chanel
Neutrogena
Lancome (especially their mascaras)
Lumene (a brand made for Scandinavian skin)
But I still have tons of other brands to try, and I also use products from tons of other brands as well on a regular basis.
