Review: Kava Kava Hydroganic Blond Mask

I reviewed the Kava Kava Hydroganic Blonde Shampoo the other day, and I mentioned that you can't get a conditioner from the same range, and are forced to use a hair mask instead, each time you want to use only Kava Kava products on your hair, while washing it. So I guess it's only fair I tell you what I actually thought of the Kava Kava Hydroganic Blond Mask as well, since I already mentioned it.

First of all, I really like the color of the Kava Kava Hydroganic Blond Mask, because like the shampoo from the same range, it's purple. Not a dark purple, like the shampoo, but a light purple, which is still pretty cool, since it looks nothing like the other hair masks I've used before.
The scent is also very pleasant, yet not very over powering, which I like.

But the best thing about the Kava Kava Hydroganic Blond Mask is that it actually makes my hair very, very soft and manageable. And believe me, if you had my hair, you would understand how rare that is! So I am very, very pleased with the Kava Kava Hydroganic Blond range, and would really recommend it for all blondes with dry or problematic hair.

This is definitely one of the best hair masks I've ever tried!

Review: Kava Kava Hydroganic Blonde Shampoo

As you may know if you've been reading this blog for a while, I have been looking for really good shampoos, conditioners and hair masks for my thick, long and rather problematic hair for a while. The hunt hasn't been going so well, especially since I decided I would only go for shampoos and hair products that have not been tested on animals, which limits the choice way more than you would think.

But I ran into the brand Kava Kava and their range for blondes at a local store recently, and decided to give them a try, since they do not test on animals, the products are sodium chloride free and the shampoo basically said it would help me with the issues I have been having, mainly making the hair less dry and more manageable.

And I was actually rather pleased with this shampoo, it looks supercool when you open the bottle first of all, since it's bright purple in color. I've never seen that with any shampoo before, and it really does make the shampoo a bit more fun to use!

It also did seem to do my hair some good, it does feel quite nice after I wash it with this shampoo.

The only complaint I have about Kava Kava is that they don't have a conditioner, so I am forced to use this shampoo with a hair mask each time (I prefer to use coordinating products like that, since I kind of believe they are designed to work together). But for everyone who can do without a conditioner, this is a great choice indeed!

I just started using this shampoo, though, so it will be interesting to see if you see any special long term results if I continue to use this for a bit longer. I hope so, because I was rather impressed with the initial results!

Review: Angry Birds by Lumene Blueberry Hand Cream

I reviewed a Angry Birds by Lumene shampoo a while ago, but that was not the only product I got from the Angry Birds by Lumene range during a recent trip to Finland (the home of both Angry Birds and Lumene, I believe?), I also got a blueberry hand cream:

This hand cream actually has a really nice scent, even though I am not sure it is super blueberryish. But then again, blueberry doesn't really have a very specific scent anyway, so maybe that's why? I really like the packaging though, and the hand cream itself is rich, easy to use and softens your hands nicely. I wouldn't go as far as saying that it's the best hand cream I've ever tried (that has to be Hand Food!), but it's one of the better ones for sure.

So if you are curious about the Angry Birds by Lumene range and need a basic, yet effective hand cream, I would recommend this one for you.

Review: H&M Cinnamon & Argan Oil Revitalising Mask

I'm not a huge fan of H&M beauty products, even though I love their fashion. But my sister recently told me that their face masks were quite good, so I decided to give 2 of them a try. The first one of these face masks that I will be reviewing is the H&M Cinnamon & Argan Oil Revitalising Mask, that is both supposed to cleanse your pores and hydrate your skin.

The first thing I thought of when I applied this mask was how nice the smell is. It smells really strongly of cinnamon, you see, and since I quite like cinnamon, I liked that. But anyone not as into the scent of cinnamon would probably be bothered by this instead.

The color of the mask is very orange, so when you're wearing this, you kind of look like you had a bad spray tan, which was kind of funny.

But other than that, I didn't like much about this mask. It didn't seem to do much for my skin, either when it comes to hydration or cleansing and it was really hard to get off!
You see, I like masks that kind of just melt away by themselves when water is applied. (I usually just stand in the shower and let the water pour all over my face)
But this mask really requires you to scrub quite a lot, in order to get it off, which was rather annoying. The mask also left my shower quite a mess, with little orange flakes everywhere.

So no, I probably would not get this mask again, even though it was rather cheap.

Review: Soap & Glory Hair Turban

I've mentioned my love for Soap & Glory products many times, but this time, I thought I would review a rather unusual product: their hair turban, which is meant to be used instead of a towel, after you wash your hair.
I read about the Soap & Glory Hair Turban and thought it sounded nice, but wasn't sure it would work for me, since my hair is very thick, very long and quite heavy. But I am happy to say that the turban fit all of my hair in it, without any problems. And even though I wasn't quite sure how easy the turban would be to use, I had no problems with that either (it comes with instructions, but since there is just one loop and one button on it, it's hard to do it wrong anyway). It's very easy to put on, comfortable to have on, even for quite a long time, but that's really not necessary, since it does dry the hair quite fast. Amazing, really!

I honestly thought this would be a rather useless item, but now that I have had a chance to try it, I am hooked! So much so, that I will buy a few more of these, so I will always have one at hand, even if I haven't managed to do the laundry since my last hair wash.

Highly recommended, even for those with long and heavy hair like mine! But I think it probably works even faster and better for those with shorter and thinner hair, but since I can't try that for myself, that's just a theory.

Today's manicure

Was the shade Lady from Dior's Grand Bal collection (for Christmas 2012, for some reason my salon still has this). I wanted to get it after having seen this picture (source):

And I must say I am very, very happy with the result. I was hoping for a perfect pearl shade, since I am pretty into genuine pearls at the moment, and Dior Grand Bal Lady is just that: a shade of the exact same color as a pearl! So I can highly recommend this shade for all lovers of pearls!

Review: Anatomicals Farewell the Scarlet Pimplehell Deep Cleansing Mud Mask

I've been using Anatomicals products for years. This brand provides great value, since the products do exactly what they say they will, but they are often cheaper than competitor's products. And that was indeed the case when I tried the Anatomicals Farewell the Scarlet Pimplehell Deep Cleansing Mud Mask recently.

I've tried several mud masks in the past, and I would say a lot of them are really good for cleansing your skin. And so is Anatomicals Farewell the Scarlet Pimplehell Deep Cleansing Mud Mask as well. It does clean your skin nicely, but this mask is not as concentrated as most other mud masks I've tried. I don't really know if that means anything or not, but if you are used to really thick mud masks, using this for the first time might feel a bit weird.

The scent wasn't anything special, not in a good way or a bad way, and my skin did feel cleaner after I applied this mask, but the results weren't spectacular in any way. So if you are looking for a cheap mud mask, this is a great option, but if you are looking for something out of the ordinary, there are more effective mud masks out there. But you will generally have to pay a lot more for them!
